Several watchers who witnessed the crime stated that at approximately 08:00 PM a car which model is SUV drove through the parade right towards people who were performing and kinds who were presented on the route of the parade. Individuals got scared after watching this and started running cluelessly. They even make a chaotic scene and leave their belongings and chairs along the route of the parade. Watchers stated that this commemoration is special and close to the heart of the community and is supposed to be celebrated with peace.

But this incident ruined everything and even took the lives of people and wounded many. Jonathan Nez, the President of the Navajo Nation was also present at the time of the parade. He states that he and his party members could have been smashed had they not shown their reaction fastly. Nez stated in a released statement briefly after the lethal accident reads that “I and my party members were in the way of the car. Fortunately, the people who were presented were around me, the council delegates, and our team members.
No one was hit by the car. The Police Department of Gallup has asserted that there were wounds though they have not stated how many or the seriousness of those wounds. The State Police Of New Mexico states that 2 Gallup police officers were wounded as well. The police stated that the driver is presently in custody. The motive or identity has not been released yet.
